For Authors

10 frequently asked questions

To submit a manuscript, you must first register as an author on our platform. Once registered, log in to your author dashboard and click "Submit Manuscript." Follow the step-by-step submission process, which includes uploading your manuscript file, providing abstract and keywords, selecting article type, and confirming ethical declarations. For detailed instructions, please review our Submission Guidelines.

Our APC is currently $500 per accepted article. We offer full or partial waivers for authors based in low-income countries or facing financial hardship. Please contact us to apply for a waiver. All accepted articles are published under a Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY) 4.0 license, ensuring maximum dissemination and re-use.

Manuscripts should be formatted according to our Submission Guidelines. Key requirements include: Microsoft Word (.doc, .docx) or PDF format, 12pt font (Times New Roman or Arial), double-spacing, APA 7th edition citation style, structured abstract of 150-300 words, and 4-8 keywords. Title pages must include author names, affiliations, ORCIDs, and acknowledgments.

Our peer review process typically takes 4-6 weeks from submission to first decision. This includes initial editorial screening (1-2 weeks), reviewer assignment and review (2-3 weeks), and editorial decision (1 week). We strive to provide timely feedback and keep authors informed throughout the process.

Our acceptance rate is approximately 35-40%. We maintain high standards of quality and originality. Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are sent for double-blind peer review by at least 2-3 independent experts in the field. Acceptance decisions are based on the scholarly merit, methodological rigor, and contribution to the field.

No, we only accept original work that has not been published elsewhere. Submitting previously published work constitutes a violation of our publication ethics policy and may result in rejection or retraction. However, pre-prints posted on institutional repositories or preprint servers (e.g., arXiv, SSRN) are acceptable, provided this is disclosed during submission.

You can check the status of your manuscript at any time by logging in to your author dashboard. The dashboard displays the current stage of your submission (e.g., "Under Review," "Revision Required," "Accepted," "Rejected"). You will also receive email notifications at each stage of the process.

If you need to make changes after submission, you may request a revision before the peer review process begins. However, once the manuscript enters peer review, changes are not permitted until the reviewers have provided their feedback. At that stage, you will be invited to submit a revised version addressing the reviewers' comments.

While not required, we encourage authors to suggest potential reviewers who are experts in the field and have no conflicts of interest. This can help expedite the review process. However, the final selection of reviewers is at the discretion of the editorial team.

Authors are required to comply with COPE and ICMJE guidelines, including: ensuring originality of work, obtaining ethics approval for human/animal research, obtaining informed consent, disclosing conflicts of interest, declaring funding sources, and acknowledging contributors. All authors must meet the ICMJE criteria for authorship. Please review our Publication Ethics policy for complete details.

For Reviewers

8 frequently asked questions

To become a reviewer, register as a reviewer on our platform and complete your profile with your areas of expertise, ORCID, and institutional affiliation. We also welcome applications from qualified researchers. Our editorial team will review your qualifications and add you to our reviewer pool. You can register as a reviewer here.

Reviewers are expected to: provide timely, constructive, and evidence-based feedback; maintain confidentiality of manuscripts; disclose any conflicts of interest; evaluate manuscripts based on scholarly merit; avoid ad hominem comments; and adhere to COPE guidelines. Detailed responsibilities are outlined in our Peer Review Policy.

Reviewers are typically given 2-3 weeks to complete a review. We understand that reviewers are busy, so we appreciate timely responses. If you need an extension, please contact the editorial office. If you are unable to complete the review, please decline the invitation promptly so we can find an alternative reviewer.

We operate a double-blind peer review process, meaning both reviewer and author identities are concealed. Your identity will not be revealed to authors during or after the review process. However, reviewers may choose to sign their reviews if they wish, but this is not required.

Reviewing is voluntary and unpaid. However, we recognize the vital contribution of reviewers through our Reviewer Recognition Program, which includes annual awards, certificates of appreciation, and acknowledgment in the journal. Reviewers also receive CME/CPD credits where applicable.

You must disclose any potential conflicts of interest when invited to review. If a conflict exists (e.g., personal relationship, professional competition, or financial interest), you should decline the review. This ensures the integrity and impartiality of the peer review process.

The use of generative AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT) in the review process is strongly discouraged. If AI tools are used, this must be explicitly disclosed to the editorial team. Reviewers remain fully responsible for the content and integrity of their reviews. AI cannot be used to generate review reports in whole or in part.

Your review should include: a summary of the manuscript, an assessment of its originality and significance, evaluation of methodology, comments on clarity and presentation, specific suggestions for improvement, and a clear recommendation (Accept, Minor Revision, Major Revision, or Reject). Provide constructive feedback that helps authors improve their work.
